Robots Built to Clean and Install Solar Panels

       In Richmond, California, there are low-tech robots installing and maintaining large-scale solar farms, at least a start-up company, known as Alion Energy, believes so. Working in near secrecy until recently, the company is ready to use its machines in three projects in the next few months in California, Saudi Arabia, and China. If all goes well, executives expect that they can help bring the price of solar electricity into line with that of natural gas by cutting the cost of building and maintaining large solar installations.
       In recent years, the solar industry has wrung enormous costs from developing farms, largely through reducing the price of solar panels more than 70% since 2008. But with prices about as low as manufacturers say they can go, the industry is turning its attention to finding savings in other areas.
       "We've been in this mode for the past decade in the industry of really just focusing on module costs because they used to be such a big portion of system costs," said Arno Harris, chief executive of Recurrent Energy, a solar farm developer, and chairman of the board of the Solar Energy Industries Association. Now, Mr. Harris said, "Eliminating the physical plant costs is a major area of focus through eliminating materials and eliminating labor."

Solar is #2 in Sourcing Electricity (with graphs to prove it!)

         Recurrent Energy CEO and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) Chairman Arno Harris observed and seen that solar power capacity has been increasing in 2013 than any other electric power source, other than one of natural gas. By 2016, it perhaps may also be claimed that solar power, from this increasing rate of growth in society today, will be the #1 source for electricity.
        This solar power energy source has exponentially grew to be an outstanding presence in society today for a few years back, solar power was very costly as well as not being existent in many areas across the United States. However, as it is noted in a SEIA press release, data is extracted below to provide the analyzing trends in the U.S. solar market today.

From the statistics shown above, photovoltaic installations have grew 76% over time in 2011 to total 3,313 megawatts in 2012 (estimating market value of $11.5 billion)

South Korea envisions solar clad bridge in the future

The near future is coming; countries all over the world are finding ways to produce energy in an infinite amount like a endless cycle of energy that can never diminish. Natural gas will soon be the end of days while people will turn their shoulders towards a new approach, followed by large sums of investors, following a new market trend that will soon go towards wind, solar, and hydrogen powered technology that will change the world. Seems like South Korea is a step ahead, envisioning a solar powered bridge stretching across the famous Han River, powered by solar panels all over it, juicing up malls, museums, libraries, and other public recreational structures. Walking through the Brooklyn Bridge, in my opinion, felt amusing with the amazing view of New York but seeing this makes me think, America needs to catch up with their technology.
